THE BEST NEWS EVER!

Hello you Beautiful Lot,

Hope are you all? I hope that all is as well as it can be and that you know you are loved.

It has been such a long time since I last wrote.. lots of reasons really.. there gets to a point where life carries on, you attend scans, get the NED (no evidence of disease) and plod along quite happily until the next scan or blood tests.

For me, and for a lot of other woman, who were diagnosed with bladder cancer around the same time, we have developed (a few) Autoimmune disorders which we are now learning to live with.. my latest being Lupus!

It has been a learning curve and continues to be so.. however I am “getting there”. With every day I’m feeling a little better and if I don’t feel better, I rest!

Oh gosh! Forgotten what I was writing.., anyhoo, my BEST NEWS EVER is…

Wait for it..,,

Drum roll please….

I AM OFFICIALLY CURED OF CANCER!

I know!!!! I know!!!! You haven’t misread it… I do NOT have cancer anymore!

Surprise Surprise 😮

I have had no recurrences since having my bladder and bits removed! A move that I feel has saved my life!!

Thats nearly 6 years ago now and the one thing we know about small cell bladder cancer is that it is an aggressive and fast growing cancer! And yet here I am 😊

Alive, maybe not so well however I am working on that.…

I’m learning to understand how our bodies work, what we need to fuel ourselves with alongside cake because I’m not giving cake up!

I’m focusing on myself and my health. I’m still in shock … never in a million years did I ever expect to “be cured”. I’m excited for the future, my future, the one I thought had been stolen from me, whatever it brings without a huge cloud hanging over me.
